Turn a CSV into an editable table in seconds.
Upload your CSV and Tablesmit builds the full table automatically. Headers detected, columns set, data ready to edit and export.
Benefits
Instant import
Tablesmit reads your CSV using PapaParse and generates the table immediately. No configuration, no column mapping — it just works.
Safe and private
Your CSV file is read entirely in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Your data never leaves your machine.
Edit after import
Once imported, the table is fully editable. Resize columns, merge cells, apply themes, change column types — then export in any format.
Large file handling
Files up to 5MB are supported. If the CSV exceeds 100,000 cells, Tablesmit clamps to the maximum table size and notifies you.
How it works
Open the import menu
Click the Import button in the toolbar and choose 'Import from CSV'.
Select your file
Choose your .csv file. Tablesmit reads the file, detects headers in the first row, and builds the table.
Edit and export
Your table is ready to edit. Style it, resize columns, add a caption — then export to PDF, Excel, or PNG.
Use cases
- Converting exported CSV data from a database into a presentation-ready table
- Importing survey results and formatting them for a report
- Taking CSV output from a research tool and styling it for publication
